A cold day in Dalkey

I didn’t really get a chance to take many photographs at all this weekend between one thing and another, but I did get a few of my friend Natalia down in Dalkey, so I’m afraid she has no choice but to be the focus of my latest post!

I’m finding these really short, dark days a bit hard to handle in every sense right now.

Anyway, I digress, so here is Natalia coping admirably with the fact she’s freezing:

And back home seeking refuge under a blanket (from the cold and the camera, probably!):

    Beautiful, big like šŸ™‚

  2. You have the prettiest friends, Conor! Yes, the shorter days are a little difficult. I’ve been getting some nighttime shots – mostly dark since I don’t have a flash. Sometimes, however, I do get some unexpectedly interesting lighting in the sky. Just keep going. The days will start getting longer again pretty soon! xoM

    • Hi Margarita. I hope you are enjoying the night-time shoots. Are we talking UFOs here? šŸ˜‰ I must get out in the freezing cold soon to see if I spot anything!

      • Lots of Us and Os, sometimes even F! I thought I saw Venus and Mars in the heavens the other night: bright fixed light, not the North Star, over the rivers. Perhaps they WERE UFOs! My husband certainly likes the sound of that! lol šŸ˜‰ xoM

  3. These are really lovely! Beautiful girl.

  4. Oh this is just great, I have ducks and you have Natalia. Sometimes life just isn’t fair. šŸ˜‰
Anyway…fantastic photos of a very lovely lady Conor! I can certainly tell you are making the most of these dark and cold days, keep up the good work. šŸ™‚

  5. She is stunning šŸ™‚ lovely pictures

  6. The first image is stunning Conor! Well done. Robyn

  7. great shots…i struggle with the race to the shortest day of the year and my inclination to photograph…..one diversion is to shoot simple macro stuff indoors…taking a closer look at the small texture details of our daily tools and toys…..the digital photographic revolution started with the huge simplification and ease of taking macro shots, with film cameras this used to be so very very difficult and required all kinds of extra gear

  8. Conor, my husband suggested you should have taken refuge at Eddie Irvine’s to warm up. Natalia has the most beautiful eyes. Beautiful shots.

  9. On the same day as Natalia was looking all snugly wrapped up, I received a photo from my youngest daughter, 21, swimming at 40 foot. Not such a good pic but perhaps a braver subject!!!

  10. Love these portraits – the first is my favourite, I think! šŸ™‚

  11. Love that first image – really grabs my eye!

  12. Adorable eyes!
